|Ringkasan KTI||In 2020-2035, the experts have predicted that Indonesia will be dominated by people of productive age. This condition may or may not be beneficial to Indonesia's economical growth. Ironically, we are deemed not ready to face this demographic dividend as our education quality is quite troublesome. According to the data released by Central Bureau of Statistic, 7 out of 10 youths in Indonesia do not have the access to proper education. The roots of the problems are economic trouble and the lack of supporting infrastructures. Education has been in the limelight for the past several years. Especially, ever since UN has launched the SDGs program. Education is explicitly stated in the program, namely Point 4: Quality Education. The aim of this point is to assure good inclusive education quality and to promote a lifetime-long chance to pursue higher education. This goal should encourage the government to solve the education problem in indonesia also inspire the youths to contribute regarding to this problem. The youths of Indonesia or simply referred to as millenials have huge potential of contribution. The immensely high use of internet and 'global exposure' will lead to better connection with the government and other contributing sectors, as well as connecting with the other millenials |
Point 4 SDGs can be an inspiration to the Government in reducing the problems of education in Indonesia through movements and social contributions that utilize a place to move and spread usefulness by moving millennials in Indonesia through the potential for high internet usage participation rates. Lenhart et al. (2010) stated that millennial is defined as individuals aged 18-39 years and has specific characteristics which are described as a generation aware of technology in using e-mail, cellular phones, and ability to communicate using cyberspace. Of the total millennials, 90% do more online activities, and this condition was not found in the previous generations (Hawkins and Mothersbaugh, 2012). The characteristics of the personality and attitude of this millennial generation in their lifestyles are as follows: Socially Driven, Diversely Motivated, and Socioeconomically Introverted.
Millennials as part of the Indonesian society have a local wisdom i.e. the mutual cooperation culture known long ago. Mutual cooperation can be the basis of Indonesian nationalism built on the basis of togetherness (Dewantara, 2016). This scientific work is intended to design a movement through original ideas to foster a spirit of mutual cooperation while helping the government reduce the constraints of education in Indonesia through contributions from millennials. The idea was realized and recognized by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia on March 14, 2018 under the name of the Beasiswa 10.000 Foundation. Beasiswa 10.000 was established to facilitate the millennial generation of social activities in the field of national education through a variety of positive activities and social media-based social projects for the advancement of the nation and state. Beasiswa 10.000 has been developed through several methods, namely, the empowerment of volunteers, the procurement of various work programs and events to socialize and add insight into the importance of education, holding soft skills and skills training programs for the community, renovating schools, providing educational scholarships and donations, giving out free courses, holding a national essay contest, an international youth summit and a community service program to extend assistance and educate the young generation at the Foremost, Outermost, Disadvantaged (3T) areas.
The development with the next method is to organize programs for youth empowerment to improve science both nationally and internationally. Beasiswa 10.000 has 2 stewards, namely, the central management and regional administrators totaling 2000 people that carry out various work programs in accordance with 3 Beasiswa 10.000 divisions: Pengumpulan dan Penyaluran, Program Pendidikan, and Education Events. The sources of Beasiswa 10.000 funds consist of 2 separate sources, namely, independent businesses and donations. Independent businesses are for the operational needs of the foundation, and donations to charity and assistance provided. It has been more than 1 billion rupiah of funds that have been collected and distributed by the Beasiswa 10.000 used for the contribution of education in Indonesia, so that it has had a significant impact in Indonesia with a total of more than 9,000 beneficiaries.
